Our friend Lauren's parent's wedding anniversary party was the perfect opportunity to make a variety of cupcakes. She placed quite an order for the special occasion! Below are pictures of strawberry shortcake cupcakes, oreo cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, and vanilla cupcakes! Shimmering gold decorations tied each design in with the "gold" theme of the party.

Cookies & Cream Polka Dotted Surprise
Shannon's roommate, Meaghan, has been dying to order some cupcakes from Batter Up! So, for Meaghan's birthday Shannon decided to place an order as a surprise! She asked us to make cookies & cream cupcakes with buttercream frosting....and to make them pink! These polka dotted treats were quite the hit. I received the following text message the night of the party: "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS! Thank you so much!" Happy Birthday Meaghan!Tickle Me Elmo!
Daphne found out about Batter Up! and quickly emailed us, asking us to make Elmo cupcakes for her daughter, Isabel's, 2nd birthday! So without hesitation, we said YES! We made our favorite chocolate cupcake recipe with buttercream icing and meticulously designed each cupcake to look like Elmo's face! We had so much fun with this order, hoping the cupcakes would put a big smile on Isabel's face...and they sure did!! Daphne emailed us a few days later and said "The cupcakes were a huge success, very pretty and totally yummy! I told everybody about you and will send on your details! As soon as I have the photos I’ll send them to you!" Happy 2nd Birthday, Isabel!!Monday, March 30, 2009
Here Comes The Bride!

Patty's wedding is just 7 weeks away and her bridal shower is the first of many pre-wedding parties! Her maid and matron of honor asked Batter Up! if we could make cupcakes for Patty's shower and decorate them with red icing to match the bridesmaids' dresses. We couldn't wait to bake these, especially since the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes are among the most delicious recipes we have! So, we spent all Saturday afternoon preparing the chocolate chip cookie dough, vanilla cake batter and buttercream icing, and baking all 4 dozen to perfection. When the cupcakes were served at the party, the guests ranted and raved about the festive and scrumptious desserts. The bride took the few leftover cupcakes home, but her fiance's friends ate them all before she could get to them! Sure enough, we've already recieved 2 more orders from the shower guests for our famous chocolate chip cookie dough treats! Congrats on your wedding, Patricia!!!

Under The Sea

Kristine called Batter Up! for her daughter Sydney's 4th birthday party after she had some of the ladybug cupcakes we made for another party (scroll down for pics). Sydney is really into mermaids so we decided to run with the Little Mermaid theme. We made cookies & cream with our tasty buttercream frosting.
Kristine emailed us with the following feedback: "The cupcakes were amazing!!!! I had enough for the moms to have one too and they also loved them. One mom even told me it was by far the best cupcake she had ever tasted. I told everyone how to get in touch with you so I'm sure you'll get some calls ! Thank you so much."
Happy Birthday Sydney! We hope you loved them, too! :)

Office Birthday Treats!
We decided to bake yummy vanilla cupcakes with delicious chocolate buttercream icing and chocolate chips for Danielle's February birthday! This buttercream is rich in flavor with a creamy texture. The cake came out extra moist, leaving each of the co-workers wanting seconds!

Bruce, Jeff and Heather are all celebrating their birthdays in March! Jeff had requested Boston Cream Cupcakes, so how could we turn him down? These vanilla cupcakes are filled with smooth boston cream and topped with a rich chocolate ganache glaze. Our entire team of 11 agreed these cupcakes were among their favorites!

Lucky Ladybugs
Bangin' Black Bottom

Skis...check. Snowboards...check. Crazy amounts of fun people in a gorgeous house in Vermont...check. Cupcakes made by Batter Up!....of course! After spending the day on the mountain (or in the hot tub) there's no better way to re-charge than with a delicious Black Bottom cupcake. These bad boys are vanilla batter with a cream cheese & chocolate chip mixture that's dropped in the middle...all on top of an Oreo cookie. Creamy chocolate frosting is the finishing touch on this to-die-for cupcake creation.

Workin' It Red Velvet

As a special treat for her co-workers, Denise made one of her favorite cupcake flavors...Red Velvet! Topped with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles, this was the perfect way to kick-off Valentine's Day weekend. Denise's co-worker Jenn said, "I loved these so much that I'd like to take Denise home with me, keep her locked in my kitchen, and make her make me red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting all day long." Hahaha...yeeeeaaaaahhhh okay Jenn. :)

And the Oscar goes to...Rocky Revolutionary Road Cupcakes!!!

It was the night of the Oscars and everyone at the Brown's theme party was dressed as their favorite nominee! Each dish and drink was named after the nominated movies...Slumdog Chicken Tikka Marsala (Slumdog Millionaire), MILK-shakes (MILK), Bread and Altar Wine (Doubt). They gave Batter Up! the exciting task of making Rocky Revolutionary Road cupcakes (Revolutionary Road). The cupcakes had fudge chocolate cake, coco buttercream icing and marshmallow, walnuts, caramel and chocolate sauce toppings. Everyone loved the new buttercream icing and the combination of the yummy topping flavors. These cupcakes were really the hottest item on the red carpet!
Hey Babycakes!

What better way to celebrate the birth of a little one than with "babycakes"! These chocolate chip cupcakes are decorated in blue and white buttercream in anticipation of a baby boy! Rattles, safety pins, and pacifier decorations add the perfect touch. Batter Up! sends a big CONGRATULATIONS to the new family and best of luck with your newborn!

Sushi & Cupcakes A La Carte

I know what you're thinking, sushi cupcakes??! Well, our friend Morgan wanted us to make cupcakes for his wife (and our friend), Becka. They are celebrating Becka's birthday with friends at a hibachi restaurant, followed by a night of board games and wine. So, we thought, why not, let's make some "sushi cupcakes!" The chocolate-chocolate chip batter topped with creamy buttercream icing wouldn't be enough. We added white sprinkles, Swedish fish and sliced up gummy worms to make each mini cupcake look like a sushi roll. We even provided some chopsticks to help them eat these decorative mini cakes! These were fun to make and even more enjoyable to look at...and eat! We hope you love them, Becka...and Happy 26th!!!!!

It’s Good! It’s Good! Field Goal Cupcakes

This Super Bowl, the Steelers took on the Cardinals in what turned out to be an awesome game (sorry Cardinals fans)! These perfect party treats let fans show their support by choosing the tiny cake decorated for their favorite team! The goal posts are made out of delicious white chocolate and the frosting is buttercream. No penalty flags here, these cupcakes were definitely a touchdown!

Very, Very Vanilla
These vanilla cupcakes are not for the faint of heart! Created special for Elizabeth's sister-in-law's birthday, Batter Up! made them "extra vanilla" at her request. Elizabeth left it up to us to color the frosting and decorate the cupcakes however we wanted so we used a pretty peach color and crystal sprinkles for an added shimmer. Our instincts paid off because Elizabeth told us, "Thanks so much! They loved them- especially the icing." Mmmmm that vanilla is good!
